Our Farmers
SAB Hop Farms
SAB Hop Farms has a rich history, dating back to 1935 when it was founded by South African Breweries and Ohlsson’s Breweries. They recognized the importance of developing hops suited for the unique growing conditions of South Africa, and thus, their hop breeding program was established the following year.
Today, SAB Hop Farms is a thriving operation comprising seven independent private farmers and three of their own farms for production and breeding. The Heidekruin Farm, located on the north side of Outeniqua Pass in Waboomskraal, is the largest farm, with plans to expand to 500 hectares. Currently, there are 424 hectares under crop, producing between 710-925 tons annually, depending on the growing conditions.

Hoppris & Ribič Hops Farms
At our brewery supply company, we take great pride in sourcing the finest ingredients for our craft beer, including our Slovenian hops. These hops are grown in the beautiful Savinja Valley, part of the Styrian Region near the town of Žalec, which is also home to The Slovenian Institute of Hop Research and Brewing. We work directly with two families at Hoppris and Ribič Hops farms to bring you the highest quality European hops available.
