AFRICAN QUEEN (FORMERLY 98J17/63)

African Queen is a South African bred high alpha, daylight neutral hop whose pedigree is a diploid seedling selected from a cross between 91J7/25 and an SA male 94US2/118.  The aroma profile includes dank, blueberries, stone fruit, black currant, gooseberries, bubble gum, lemongrass, and chilies.  Works well with all hop-forward beers, including American and Belgian styles.  Also works well with subtle blended beers such as those with coffee, fruit, and spices.  Possible similar hops: Mosaic, Simcoe, Citra.

SOUTHERN AROMA

Southern Aroma is a South African bred aroma, daylight neutral hop whose pedigree is a diploid seedling originating from Saaz and Hallertauer Mettelfreuh crossing.  The aroma profile includes floral, fields of flowers, woody/spicy, and fruity.  A hop with classic noble hop character and a fruity South African terroir backdrop.  Works well with classic European and English styles where traditional noble hops may be used, but also hop forward beers of American and Belgian origins.  Possible similar hops: Motueka.

SOUTHERN PASSION

Southern Passion is a South African bred aroma daylight neutral hop whose pedigree is a diploid seedling originating from Saaz and Hallertauer crossing.  The aroma profile includes passion fruit (granadilla), guava, red berries, melon, calendula, and grapefruit – unique.  Works well with a variety of beer styles including lightly hopped session beers, and all hop-forward beers of American and Belgian origins such as pale ales, IPAs and Saisons.  Possible similar hops: none.

SOUTHERN STAR

Southern Star is a South African bred high alpha, daylight neutral hop whose pedigree is a diploid seedling selected from Outeniqua and an SA male OF2/93.  The aroma profile includes tangerine, blueberries, pine, tropical fruit, dank, and white pepper.  Works well all hop-forward beers and as a bittering hop with clean bitterness.  Possible similar hops are Mosaic, Ekuanot, El Dorado, Mandarina Bavaria, Southern Cross, and Warrior.

The aroma profile of U1/108 is litchie, mango, guava, citrus, lemongrass, stone fruit, and coconut.
